Korean Grammar #1. 제 vs 저의 / -이에요 vs -이예요

저는 현재 외국인이 쓴 한글 일기와 한글 에세이를 수정하는 작업을 하고 있어요. 때때로 한국어 문법에 관한 질문을 받고 있어요.
I am currently correcting Korean journals and essays written by foreigners. Sometimes I have received some questions about Korean grammar.

오늘 한 친구가 저에게 한국어 문법에 관해 질문을 했어요.
Today, someone asked me about Korean grammar as follows:

'제'와 '저의' 그리고 '-이예요'와 '-이에요' 중 어떤 것이 문법적으로 맞느냐는 질문이었어요.
Difference between: 제 and 저의 / -이예요 or- 이에요 Which is correct?
한국어를 모국어로 하는 많은 한국인들도 이 문법은 헷갈려해요. 그래서 이 질문을 여기에 공유하기로 했어요.
Many native speakers are confused this grammar, so this question is very good to share here.

My answer was as follows:* 제, 저의 both are correct.* 이에요 is correct. 이예요 is wrong.

You can use 이에요 as the same with 예요,
but '이에요' sounds more natural and formal in your writing.

When you have prop consonants with your last word, you should say 이에요.
On the other hand, without prop consonants, you should say 예요.

ex) 제 스마트폰은 아이폰이에요. = 제 스마트폰은 아이폰예요. (with prop consonants)
제 이름은 마리예요. (without prop consonants)
